Two new peer-reviewed studies are inviting people to rethink how cannabis interacts with aging, health and everyday behavior. One study reports that older adults with a history of cannabis use perform better on several cognitive tests than non-users. Another finds that adults who live close to licensed cannabis retailers are less likely to engage in heavy alcohol use, especially seniors and younger adults in their early twenties. Taken together, the findings suggest a more nuanced picture than the one painted by decades of scare stories about cannabis and older adults. They also add to a growing body of evidence that…

Step aside, ice water hash, the pendulum is swinging toward extracts purified by the power of electricity in the mid-2020s. There’s an argument to be made that people in counter-culture are actually the normal ones—the ones who “keep it real” in a world obsessed with conformity. Naturally, when something real gets too loud or too loved, the corporate world finds a way to cash in on it—both for profit and, sometimes, for sport.420 SlamsNew Era, Same Old Rules Remember when jobs would drug-test for weed but turn a blind eye to addictions to painkillers and alcohol? That kind of hypocrisy defined workplaces—and whole industries—for decades. No company captures that contradiction better than WWE, the wild, glittering circus of professional wrestling.…

Colorado’s Natural Medicine Program is moving from legislation to lived practice, built not by corporations but by the people preparing to guide patients through psychedelic care. Colorado is trying to do something no state has ever succeeded at: create a regulated, statewide psychedelic care system from scratch. Not decriminalization-only. Not theoretical. A real, clinically governed model for legal psychedelic services with licensed facilitators, licensed centers, and a controlled supply chain.  But while the state finalizes rules, approves training programs, and begins issuing the first provisional licenses, the people preparing to actually do this work have already begun building the culture…

As cannabis becomes a regulated global commodity—spanning pharma, exports and healthcare—the U.S. risks falling behind. While other regions advance professionalized, regulated markets, federal inaction and investor hesitation threaten America’s role in the industry it once led. Call it what you want—emerging, evolving, exploding—the global cannabis market is no longer a curiosity. In late 2025, the story is simple: the rest of the world is moving on, normalizing access and building systems. The U.S., meanwhile, is still arguing about the basics. With more than 100 countries adopting some form of legalization and cross-border shipments rising each quarter, cannabis is becoming a…

A quiet move by the U.S. Department of Justice in late September appears to have reopened the door for federal prosecutors to pursue low-level cannabis cases again. The document itself is not public, but a Justice Department press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Wyoming states that DOJ rescinded earlier guidance on simple marijuana possession. So far, only one district has publicly acted on the shift: the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Wyoming, which now says it will “rigorously prosecute” possession on federal land. The announcement came from U.S. Attorney Darin Smith, who said marijuana offenses on…
