    New Mexico lawmakers sent Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham (D) a bill to create a therapeutic psilocybin program by legalizing the active ingredient in psychedelic mushrooms for use in a supervised medical setting.

    The Texas Senate approved a bill to ban consumable hemp-derived products containing any amount of THC despite a new poll showing public opposition to such a move.

    New Jersey Democratic gubernatorial candidate Steve Sweeney, a former state Senate president, says he supports legalizing home cultivation of medical marijuana, expanding cannabis clemency and opening social consumption lounges.

    The chair of the Pennsylvania House Health Committee said marijuana legalization is “inevitable” as the state is “bleeding out revenue” to neighbors that have already enacted the reform—adding that he expects a bill could pass there by June.

    Florida House and Senate committees have approved bills to ban spores or mycelium that can produce mushrooms containing the psychedelic compounds psilocybin or psilocyn.

    A new poll shows that a majority of Utah voters would support legalizing marijuana through a ballot initiative.

    The New York Civil Liberties Union, New York Doctors Coalition, Catholic Charities Care Coordination Services and other groups are urging state officials to reject a proposal to let police use the smell of marijuana to force drivers to take drug tests.

    A new federally funded study published by the American Medical Association shows that police drug enforcement operations have the “unintended negative consequence of increasing opioid overdose mortality” and that “it may be better to focus on evidence-based health policies.”

    • “No evidence-based approach exists that shows supply-side interventions, such as policing and seizing drugs, reduces drug use or drug-related health problems.”

    The Drug Enforcement Administration promoted an article about middle school students becoming “sickened” after eating cannabis gummies.

    National Institute on Drug Abuse Director Nora Volkow authored a blog post acknowledging that “complete abstinence is sometimes not achievable, even in the long-term, and there is a need for new treatment approaches that recognize the clinical value of reduced use.”

    Missouri’s state auditor is raising concerns about regulators’ oversight of marijuana tax returns.

    New Mexico lawmakers sent Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham (D) a bill to establish a cannabis enforcement bureau.

    The West Virginia House Health and Human Resources Committee held a hearing on psilocybin and ibogaine bills.

    A University of Colorado Board of Regents member who owns a cannabis company is facing an independent review for possible conflict of interest following her opposition to now-discontinued illustrations in an anti-marijuana ad campaign that the university was promoting.

    The chair of the St. Croix Chippewa Indians of Wisconsin is calling on state lawmakers to legalize medical cannabis.

    Oklahoma medical cannabis regulators published an annual report.

    New Jersey regulators approved additional marijuana business licenses.

    Minnesota regulators sent a reminder that applications for the CanRenew Community Restoration Grant are due on Monday.
