    Veterans Affairs Secretary Doug Collins informed President Donald Trump about his department’s plans to explore the therapeutic potential of psychedelics to address the military veteran suicide crisis during a Cabinet meeting.

    Hawaii lawmakers sent Gov. Josh Green (D) legislation to revise the state’s medical cannabis law by letting some doctors recommend marijuana for any condition, authorizing recommendations via telehealth and allowing caregivers to grow for up to five patients, among other changes.

    The New Hampshire Senate voted to table a House-passed marijuana legalization bill, the latest setback for cannabis reform in the “Live Free or Die” state.

    Florida lawmakers sent Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) an agricultural bill including provisions to ban sales of spores or mycelium that can produce mushrooms containing the psychedelic compounds psilocybin or psilocyn.

    The Colorado Senate passed a bill to empower the governor to grant pardons to people who’ve been convicted of psychedelics-related offenses, and to revise rules for legal psychedelic products and healing centers.

    The Texas House State Affairs Committee approved a Senate-passed bill to block cities from putting initiatives on local ballots to decriminalize marijuana or other controlled substances.

    Pennsylvania’s Commonwealth Office of Digital Experience is asking marijuana businesses across the country to fill out a survey to help state officials better understand the cannabis industry as lawmakers there consider enacting adult-use legalization this session.

    Cayman Islands voters approved a marijuana decriminalization referendum that expresses support for removing criminal penalties for simple cannabis possession and use.

    Researchers announced that they “successfully isolated a new cannabinoid” in marijuana and identified several other compounds in the plant “for the first time”—finding that some have potential “antitumor effects against neuroblastomas.”

    The Ohio Senate unanimously passed a bill to restrict sales of intoxicating hemp products to marijuana dispensaries only—removing them from gas stations, convenience stores and smoke shops.

    The Texas House State Affairs Committee gutted a Senate-passed bill to ban consumable hemp products with any amount of THC—replacing its text with provisions to create a regulatory structure for cannabinoid edibles and drinks and smokable hemp flowers.

    Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) tweeted, “No one should be in prison for cannabis, especially when it’s legal across half the country. It’s time to decriminalize cannabis, expunge convictions, and invest in the communities hit hardest.”

    Rep. Dina Titus (D-NV) tweeted, “introduced the Evidence-Based Drug Policy Act which would allow the Office of National Drug Control Policy to research cannabis usage in the United States without penalty. I’ll always fight for common sense cannabis policy. The federal government needs to catch up to the states.”

    Montana lawmakers sent Gov. Greg Gianforte (R) two competing bills on the allocation of marijuana tax revenue to conservation programs.

    Members of the Vermont House Human Services Committee and the state’s top marijuana regulator discussed plans to allow medical cannabis sales at recreational dispensaries.

    A Colorado judge rejected a request to force regulators to ramp up testing for illegal synthetic THC products.

    Ohio regulators sent an alert about marijuana products that used an undisclosed ingredient, edible glitter.

    Alaska regulators approved rules on reduced marijuana business license renewal fees.

    New Rhode Island marijuana rules took effect.

    Maryland regulators published guidance for medical cannabis caregivers.

    California regulators sent guidance about cannabis business designated responsible parties.

    Michigan regulators filed a complaint against a marijuana business over alleged violations.
