    The Drug Enforcement Administration has formally transmitted a petition to reschedule psilocybin to the Department of Health and Human Services for a medical and scientific review following years of legal challenges.

    President Donald Trump is reportedly reviewing a draft “Make Our Children Healthy Again Strategy” document that includes a recommendation for the surgeon general to “launch an education and awareness initiative on the impact of alcohol, controlled substances, vaping, and THC on children’s health.”

    The Texas Senate passed another bill to ban consumable hemp products with any amount of THC during a new second special session, despite Gov. Greg Abbott’s (R) call for regulation over prohibition.

    Prohibitionist organization Smart Approaches to Marijuana sent a letter to President Donald Trump and top Department of Justice officials narcing on Washington, D.C. cannabis dispensaries it alleges are too close to schools despite local approval.

    A new study found that cannabis seed oil “demonstrated significant potential in accelerating wound healing processes, particularly in promoting wound size reduction” and other markers of healing—”indicating a superior effect compared to” a conventional antibiotic.

    The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention launched a new campaign focused on preventing youth substance use.

    Rep. Jared Golden (D-ME) filed a bill that his office says has a provision that “could be used to block foreign investments such as those that have led to the establishment of illegal cannabis grow houses in Maine.”

    A New York regulator said federal marijuana rescheduling “opens doors to research” and “reduces financial burdens on cannabis businesses.”

    The Massachusetts Cannabis Social Equity Trust Fund distributed $26.5 million in grants to 181 businesses over the past year.

    Rhode Island and Washington State regulators told federal appeals courts that a recent ruling that the dormant commerce clause applies to marijuana should not affect their pending appeals in separate cases.

    Michigan regulators published a bulletin on regulatory assessments for marijuana businesses.

    Hawaii regulators published a monthly report on the medical cannabis program.

    A Washington State cannabis regulatory spokesperson discussed changes in consumer preferences and a decrease in prices.

    The Utah Medical Cannabis Policy Advisory Board met.

    The Washington State Cannabis Advisory Council will meet on Wednesday.

    The Nevada Cannabis Compliance Board will meet on Thursday.

    The California Cannabis Advisory Committee will meet on August 28.
