    The House Rules Committee is set to consider National Defense Authorization Act amendments to expand waivers for military recruits who’ve tested positive for marijuana and to allow service members to use legal hemp products.

    Republican political operative Roger Stone and former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer discussed their differing perspectives on the prospects for federal marijuana rescheduling under President Donald Trump.

    The Massachusetts legislature’s Joint Committee on Cannabis Policy approved bills to create employment protections for marijuana consumers and add PTSD and opioid use disorder as medical cannabis qualifying conditions.

    A new survey shows that licensed marijuana business operators are not optimistic that cannabis will be federally rescheduled this year—even though 97 percent say the reform is “important” to the “long-term viability” of their companies.

    The Nebraska Medical Cannabis Commission adopted emergency rules that ban smoking, vaping and edibles, and limit the number of cultivation and product manufacturing licenses.

    Massachusetts’s treasurer plans to appeal a ruling reinstating the state’s top marijuana regulator after she was removed.

    A Michigan senator said legalizing marijuana has helped to address racial disparities in the criminal justice system.

    A Virginia senator tweeted, “Any legal marijuana market bill has to strengthen the punishments on illegal stores. These shops are setting up under false pretenses and selling illegal products to children. And it has to stop.”

    California regulators sent guidance about embargoed cannabis products, representative sampling and other issues.

    Washington State regulators posted an updated list of pesticides allowed to be used in marijuana production.

    The New York Cannabis Control Board will meet on Tuesday.

    A study’s results “contradict research suggesting chronic users (vs. non-users) are more impulsive, lack inhibitory control, tend to invest physical effort regardless of reward, and tend not to invest cognitive effort for reward,” suggesting that “chronic cannabis use may not impair decision making as profoundly as previously thought if individuals are motivated by potential consequences of their decisions in tasks with low memory demand.”
