The Portland Pickles—a collegiate summer baseball wooden bat team based in Portland, Oregon—will become the first sports team in the U.S. to legally sell THC products at live sports events. The baseball team announced Tuesday an exclusive partnership with Cycling Frog, makers of hemp-derived THC-based seltzer drinks. The team began selling the infused drinks at Walker Stadium in Portland on June 18. Residents in states where marijuana is legal are more likely to engage in physical activities as compared to those who live in jurisdictions where cannabis remains prohibited, according to data published in the Journal of Cannabis Research. Forensic labs rarely ever identify the presence of fentanyl in illicit cannabis samples, according to an analysis published in the journal The Lancet Regional Health – Americas. Harvard Medical School researchers reviewed drug chemistry results from nearly 12 million samples of illicit substances seized by law enforcement between the years 2013 to 2023. They identified fentanyl in fewer than two percent of the samples tested. Fentanyl co-occurrence was most prevalent in heroin but was “low” among non-opioid substances. Fewer than three percent of cocaine seizures tested positive for fentanyl and only one percent of methamphetamine samples tested positive for it.…

The percentage of high-school students who report consuming cannabis has fallen significantly over the better part of the past decade, according to an analysis of federal data published in the journal Pediatric Reports.
