    Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro (D) included marijuana legalization in his budget request—noting that President Donald Trump’s federal rescheduling executive order signals “a softening of the treatment of cannabis across the country.”

    Rep. Andy Harris (R-MD), one of the staunchest marijuana reform opponents on Capitol Hill, could be at risk of losing his seat in Congress under a new redistricting plan approved by the Maryland House of Delegates.

    Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost (R) approved a recently resubmitted referendum petition to block parts of a restrictive marijuana and hemp law from going into effect after rejecting an initial version he said was “misleading.”

    The Washington State Senate Labor & Commerce Committee approved a bill to legalize home cultivation of marijuana by allowing adults to grow up to six plants for personal use.

    Lawmakers in at least 13 states are considering legislation this year to allow seriously ill patients to use medical cannabis in hospitals and other healthcare facilities, a push that advocates say is being bolstered by President Donald Trump’s federal cannabis rescheduling order.

    Top Oklahoma lawmakers are giving mixed reactions to Gov. Kevin Stitt’s (R) proposal to put a measure to roll back medical cannabis legalization on the ballot and “shut it down.”

    Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen (R) is accepting applications for an open seat on the Medical Cannabis Commission after the body’s former chair stepped down.

    Indiana lawmakers are not optimistic about the chances of marijuana legalization advancing in the state this year despite federal momentum generated by President Donald Trump’s cannabis rescheduling executive order.
