Across the country, women and non-binary leaders are reshaping the cannabis industry: breaking barriers, challenging conventions, and creating a more inclusive future. Now, their impact is being celebrated.

The Grass Ceiling Honors, presented by GreenState in collaboration with Cann Studio, recognize exceptional changemakers redefining what leadership looks like in cannabis. From cultivation and entrepreneurship to policy, education, and advocacy, these honorees are the driving force behind an evolving and equitable industry.

One honoree from each U.S. region will be recognized — five in total — and celebrated during Blunt Brunch Nationals in Las Vegas on December 2, as part of Cannabis Week. From the MJBizCon floor to exclusive industry events, honorees will be spotlighted across multiple platforms.

Each recipient will also gain access to a suite of professional services, earned media opportunities, and other resources designed to elevate their brand and amplify their influence.

    Recognizing Excellence

The Grass Ceiling Honors highlights individuals who exemplify leadership, integrity, and advocacy in every corner of the legal cannabis industry.

A panel of judges will review nominations using a weighted rubric (100 points total) to select honorees based on five core criteria:

    Industry Leadership
Visionaries who demonstrate bold leadership, innovation, and forward thinking — from launching new ventures to shaping the future of cannabis.

    Advocacy & Education
Champions who promote awareness, responsibility, and inclusion, helping to build a more informed and equitable industry.

    Community Impact
Individuals who make a measurable difference through action — creating opportunity, empowering others, and strengthening their communities.

    Integrity & Compliance
Leaders who set the standard for ethical practices and full regulatory compliance at every level.

    Public Influence & Storytelling
Authentic voices who use their platforms to inspire, educate, and represent the responsible evolution of cannabis culture.

    How to Nominate

Know someone who embodies these qualities — or believe you do? Nominations are open from October 23 through November 7, 2025, and self-nominations are welcome.

    Nominees must:

    • Be legal U.S. residents
    • Be 21 years of age or older
    • Identify as female or non-binary
    • Work, advocate, or create within the legal cannabis industry

    Submit your nomination at: https://www.greenstate.com/business/grass-ceiling-honors-nomination/

    Breaking the Grass Ceiling

For too long, women and non-binary professionals have been underrepresented in an industry that thrives on innovation, resilience, and community. The Grass Ceiling Honors is about recognizing their impact — and ensuring their voices are heard.

This December in Las Vegas, the spotlight turns toward those who are not just participating in the cannabis revolution but leading it.
