President Donald Trump said his administration will make a determination on marijuana rescheduling “over the next few weeks.”

    • “We’re only looking at that. It’s early… It’s a very complicated subject.”

Trump administration Solicitor General D. John Sauer is asking the U.S. Supreme Court to take up a case on the federal ban on users of marijuana and other illegal drugs having guns, saying the prohibition “complies with the Second Amendment” and “fits comfortably within this Nation’s tradition of firearm regulation.”

A new PAC called America First Agriculture Action Inc. launched a 30-second ad encouraging President Donald Trump to reschedule marijuana—and the group shares the same treasurer as Trump’s own MAGA Inc. super PAC.

A new federally funded study shows that marijuana consumers have “enhanced cognitive abilities” and “superior performance across multiple cognitive domains,” suggesting that “cannabis use may be associated with a deceleration of neural aging processes and the preservation of cognitive function in older adults.”

Mississippi House Public Health and Human Services Committee Chairman Sam J. Creekmore IV (R) argues in a new Marijuana Moment op-ed that the state should allow military veterans to access the psychedelic ibogaine and “lead the South and the nation in pioneering a new path toward evidence-based, life-saving care.”

    / FEDERAL

President Donald Trump announced that Drug Enforcement Administration Administrator Terrance Cole is being designated as interim federal commissioner of Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Department.

The Drug Enforcement Administration promoted a prohibitionist group’s article claiming that “weed addiction has almost doubled among kids.”

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) tweeted photos of himself attending the opening of a hemp company facility, saying, “I was honored to do the hemp wood ‘board cutting’ in Murray recently and look forward to hearing all about the continued growth and success of this great Kentucky company. I’m proud to support Kentucky’s hemp industry!”

    / STATES

Michigan cannabis regulators submitted a plan to implement recommendations from the Office of the Auditor General.

New Jersey regulators are launching an investigation of marijuana THCA and mold testing results.

California regulators posted a meme playing into the “great genes” controversy related to a jeans ad featuring Sydney Sweeney.

Colorado regulators will hold psychedelics listening sessions this month and next month.
