    Protect the Public’s Trust, a nonprofit focused on government transparency, filed a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for allegedly refusing to turn over marijuana rescheduling records, including communications with the Department of Justice and Drug Enforcement Administration.

    The Congressional Research Service says in a new report that President Donald Trump’s approach to marijuana “remains to be seen” and that it is “unknown” if a pending cannabis rescheduling proposal will be finalized.

    Representatives of the trucking and railroad industries expressed concerns about the impact that marijuana rescheduling could have on zero-tolerance drug testing policies in testimony before House Transportation & Infrastructure subcommittees.

    Virginia Senate and House committees approved legislation to legalize marijuana sales despite a veto threat from Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R), with the Senate measure heading to a floor vote as the next step.

    The Indiana House of Representatives’s Republican majority blocked a Democratic-led amendment to remove marijuana from the list of restricted Schedule I drugs under state law.

    Key Hawaii House and Senate committee chairs introduced new legislation to legalize marijuana and create a comprehensive regulatory structure for not only adult-use cannabis but also the medical medical marijuana and hemp industries.

    A Florida Republican senator withdrew a medical cannabis home cultivation bill shortly after filing it, saying he’ll reintroduce the measure without separate provisions to set new restrictions on certain hemp-derived cannabinoid products that were included in the initial measure.

    Rhode Island representatives filed a bill to temporarily legalize possession, home grow and sharing of psilocybin. If the psychedelic is federally approved, state officials would set rules for cultivation, distribution and medical prescription.

    A Drug Enforcement Administration judge said a lawyer’s representation of a participant in pending marijuana rescheduling hearings was “suboptimal” after her name was connected to a motion seeking leave to file an interlocutory appeal without her knowledge or consent.

    Rep. Angie Craig (D-MN) tweeted that she “sat down with several Minnesota hemp businesses this week to talk about how we can best support the industry while enacting commonsense regulations that boost responsible hemp operations.”

    The Texas Senate Committee on State Affairs published a report addressing a charge to consider banning consumable hemp products and THC beverages.

    Oregon regulators issued a recall of marijuana edibles that failed to disclose the presence of butter.

    Maryland officials gave lawmakers an update on cannabis product inspections and enforcement.

    Washington State regulators are conducting a survey of marijuana businesses and employees about “how to better support cannabis education efforts.”

    U.S. Virgin Islands regulators awarded a cannabis track and trace contract to Metrc.

    The New York Cannabis Advisory Board met.

    The Virginia Cannabis Control Authority Board of Directors will meet on Wednesday.
